                     Mimail is an e-mail worm, uses security hole in Internet explorer to infect target systems. It collects e-mail addresses stored in local hard disk to distribute infected messages. Mimail worm arrives as an e-mail attachment. The infected attachment name will be "Message.zip". The infected mail sample is given below.

                     When the worm file message.html stored in message.zip is executed, it copies itself to Temporary Internet Files folder as "Foo.exe" and runs it. Foo.exe drops videodrv.exe, tmp, zip.tmp, and eml.tmp in the infected system.

                     Mimail modifies registry run section to load automatically on the next startup. The registry modification is given below.

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
"VideoDriver"= C:\%Windows%\videodrv.exe
